Yole farm is nestled on one of the highest points in the South of Cambridgeshire, situated on the B1052 road which runs between Balsham and Linton with access to the Peddars way via the farms footpaths.
Yole farm has been traditionally farmed with conservation in mind by the family for over 100 years, starting with James’ grandfather in 1920, growing crops and rearing prime beef and lamb. We farm 830 hectares of arable land.
The farm is in several conservation schemes including Mid Tier Countryside Stewardship Scheme, and our ponds are being managed by FWAG to encourage Newts. We have planted several woods and in 2020 alone planted 650 metres of new hedgerow.
We grow wild bird feed strips to help feed many species of farmland birds to ensure they thrive on the farm.
The old stable offices were originally used for the farms horses and cows before this rejuvenation.
